A commissioned scene from Borderlines by Helen Nightengale.

It's been a long time since I had reason to paint a dragon, so I was thrilled to do this piece, and I'm happy with how it turned out. This is also the most complex background I've ever done. (x_x)

Pencil drawing, painting done in Photoshop 7.0 with a Wacom tablet.

High quality 8x11" prints and 10x14" posters of this painting are available through my website: [link]

What a beautiful dragon! Ooh, you're so lucky, I can't even paint with a paintbrush, let alone Photoshop! ^-^

Woah, the dragon is beautiful! Kinda remids me of Barroth, the magician dragon from The I of the Dragon video game.. mm my pretty Barroth..
Though the pose reminds me of a cat.. it's probably the eyes ^.^

Thank you!

He's actually supposed to be catlike - that was how he was described in the scene that I illustrated. So I'm really happy that he looks catlike to someone who didn't know that I meant it that way. (^_^)

So, mission accomplished ;) I envy you guys who *know* how to use liquify option.. I barely know what it is supposed to do :/
:iconkiriko-moth:
Oh, I don't know how to use it. I just went into it with the 'what's this button do?' technique and played with it until it looked okay. It's kind of like a super version of the smudge tool, except that it just moves things instead of smearing them.

Well...that's one of its functions. It does a lot of other stuff that I didn't experiment with.

I'd suggest just opening up a picture in Photoshop and playing with the liquify tool to see what you can do with it. Just be sure not to save over your picture if you mess it up. (~_^)

Hehehe, thanks!

Yeah, play, play.. I do that all the time :P
